A three-year agreement was ratified on March 19, 2019, by members working for Dexterra at the Pickering Town Centre.

The contract includes raises of 40 cents per hour in each year, with retroactive pay for hours worked since the expiry of the previous agreement. Full-time employees also benefit from an improved meal allowance of $10.

Employer contributions to both the dental and health benefit funds will increase to maintain benefits for the members. Other improvements provide all employees with an allowance of $75 per year, up from $60, for the purchase of anti-slip shoes. Plus, all members receive one additional paid floater day.

Other language improvements address additional holidays, the quantity of provided uniforms, pay equity compliance, and arbitration time limits. The employer will now contribute $100 per year toward the UFCW Local 175 Training & Education Fund as well.

Lastly, improved language now provides for one additional negotiating committee member.

Union Negotiating Committee: Rosita Kapsalakis and Union Rep Christina Mayberry.
