Caleres Canada members unanimously ratify new deal

The members in Perth at Caleres Canada Inc. unanimously ratified a three-year agreement on November 9, 2022.
Wage increases are as follows: Year 1 – $2.05, Year 2 – $1.25 and Year 3 – $1.25. A minimum wage plus grid was maintained for all employees. NEW: Saturday premium of $1.00/hr and Sunday premium of $1.50/hr.
The pension contribution will increase by $0.25 and will now be $0.75 per hour and will be matched by the employer.
Other language improvements include:
- Optical coverage increased to $250.00 every 2 years – up from $200.00.
- NEW Clothing/Boot Allowance of $120.00 per year.
- Employees will now be entitled to four weeks vacation after 10 years down from 12 years – 8%.
- Members can now opt out of mandated overtime twice per month if the employer asks for overtime after 9:00am.
