Amcor Packaging ratifies wage increases and improvements to language for industrial manufacturing workers with new collective agreement.

Amcor Packaging Canada, Inc., in Mississauga ratified a new collective agreement on January 16, 2026, with a three-year term.

Wages for the membership will increase each year of the contract as follows:

  • Year 1 – from $1.05 to $3.25/hour.
  • Year 2 – 2.3%.
  • Year 3 – 2.3%.
  • Shift premiums will increase by 25 cents per hour.

Other language improvements and gains include:

  • $25.00 increase to the safety shoe allowance.
  • $25.00 increase for safety glasses.
  • Reimbursement of $200 per calendar year for gym membership or personal fitness equipment; an important win for these members.
  • Extra 15-minute break for 8- and 12-hour shifts.
  • Chief steward and steward will receive extra time off for union business.

We were able to secure important language for the membership regarding curtailment and as such the employer will not send personnel home or delay incoming shift. Personnel will be offered any other work that is available within the plant, employees must be willing to perform available job duties assigned.
