Imperial Parking members ratify strong wage increases and more paid sick days
April 17, 2026

In March, the 36 members of UFCW Local 175 working at Imperial Parking in Ottawa secured a new three-year collective agreement.
As a result of the ratified agreement, wages for members at Imperial Parking will increase by 5% in year one, 4% in year two, and another 4% in year three. Members will also benefit from improved premiums of $1.50, up from $1.25, per hour for overnight shift, and $0.85, up from $0.75, per hour for the Traffic/Jockey shift.
The Union Negotiating Committee successfully maintained the members’ current health and welfare benefits. Plus, the Committee negotiated improvements to paid bereavement to ensure five days’ paid leave, up from four, for the death of an immediate family member.
The ratified agreement contains new language providing two paid sick days per year for part-time employees with more than two years of seniority. Plus, full-time employees with at least eight years of seniority receive an additional paid sick day per year, bringing their total to nine annually. Members also benefit from an improved pay out rate of 75%, up from 50%, for unused sick days.
Further monetary improvements provide $130, up from $120, per year toward the boot allowance, and $15, up from $12.50, for a meal allowance for those working more than 12 hours on a shift.
Union Negotiating Committee: Mohammoud Abdi, Guled Yusuf Adan, Yosef Russom, and Union Representatives Mirella Fornieri and Joe Tenn.
