Madoc C.O.P.E. members ratify good wage and language improvements

On March 16, 2026, the UFCW Local 175 Health, Office, and Professional Employees (HOPE) Sector members at Madoc C.O.P.E. secured a new three-year collective agreement.

The ratified agreement at Madoc C.O.P.E., which is a not-for-profit where members provide developmental services to their clients, will bring wage and language improvements for the members of UFCW Local 175 working at the facility.

In year one, members receive lump sum payments of $1,000 for full-time and $250 for part-time. All wages and classifications will see rate increases of 2% in year two, and 2.5% in year three.

The Union Negotiating Committee successfully achieved important changes to the members’ use of paid sick leave. Now, members may use up to 36.5 hours of their sick leave per fiscal year when a minor dependant is ill and requires the care and supervision of the employee. Previously, paid sick leave could only be used for a member’s illness, injury, or work-related stress.

The employer shall pay the cost of printing the members’ Collective Agreement, up to a maximum of $10 per book, and it will also now contribute $200 to the UFCW Local 175 Training & Education Fund as well.
