2026 Steward Seminars kick off in Kingston and Hamilton
April 11, 2026
This weekend, from April 11-12, 2026, our UFCW Locals 175 & 633 Union Stewards from the Kingston and Hamilton areas are taking part in a weekend educational seminar.
Courses that Stewards can look forward to at this year’s seminars include Stewards Training, Preparing for Arbitration, Introduction to Health & Safety, and new courses on Organizing from the Inside Out and The Road to Accommodation.

“Belonging to UFCW Locals 175 & 633 and the labour movement is about the steps we take forward every day to help build a better and brighter future for our members and for working people. And you all are an integral part of why we’re able to continue to take those steps forward and fight for our members,” said President Kelly Tosato. “I’m proud to stand here as your President… I’m proud of our staff. I’m proud of the hard work of our 70,000 members – and I’m proud of all of you in this room and for all our stewards who weren’t able to join us this weekend for your dedication and commitment – so thank you – thank you for all that you do. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.”
Weekend steward seminars happen every two years and are complemented by one-day cell training held in cities throughout the province in alternate years.
“Every day, our Stewards are discussing concerns and solving issues that prevent problems down the road – from health and safety concerns to ensuring seniority is respected, breaks are given, hours are counted, overtime is calculated, and pay is correct… the list goes on,” added President Tosato. “So, on behalf of all of our staff at the Union and for all the co-workers you assist every day, thank you.”
