Why have a Member Engagement Conference?
- Member engagement and participation are the foundations of a strong and democratic union. These opportunities open spaces for that and encourage Union members from across our great Local Union to take an active role in shaping the future of their Union.
- Plus, this conference is member-driven and being planned by members just like you who applied during our Member Engagement Committee application period earlier this year.
Who is eligible to attend?
- This conference is for our UFCW Locals 175 & 633 members who have NOT taken on a Union Steward or Health & Safety Representative role in the workplace.
- You can be a new member or a long-time member – but you must be an active member in good standing when you apply and at the time of the conference.
- An easy application process below will take you through some questions. And remember, we are looking for members who want to build a brighter future for our Union – one of unity and solidarity. So, everyone who is selected to attend must have completed all of the form questions and given thoughtful, sincere responses.
- Members invited to attend will include a mix of new and long-time members, and will reflect the many ways our great Local Union is so richly diverse, including all of the sectors our members work across.
What is the cost to attend the conference?
- Everyone invited to attend the conference – who does attend – will have the cost of transportation, accommodation, and any applicable lost-time covered by the Local Union in accordance with Local Union policies. Meals during the conference will be provided. Those who receive invitations should pay close attention to the cancellation policy.
Is this conference accessible?
- Our membership is incredibly diverse, and we are working hard to ensure that this conference is accessible to every member in as many ways as it reasonably can be.
- If you have accessibility requests or questions, please reach out to our conference organizer at engage@ufcw175.com or 905-821-8329 / 1-800-565-8329.
Every member who completes and submits an application, should receive an email from the Union confirming receipt of the application and what comes next. If you don’t receive this email, please check your Spam folder or contact engage@ufcw175.com.
