On Friday, September 22, 2017, the Local Union took part in the kickoff event for the United Way Waterloo Region Communities annual Campaign.

This year’s theme is #changethepowerofpoverty and their goal is to raise $7 million.

The Local Union was more than happy to provide the BBQ for all the participants. A number of teams from the community took part in an Amazing Race challenge leading up to the lunch event. There was even a team with members from P&H Milling in Cambridge on hand as well.

Since Union Rep Diane Sanvido is the United Way liaison for the Local Union, she helped organize the event and took a few moments to play some Plinko too. In addition, Region 7 Director Sharon Kempf helped out with the BBQ and coordinating for the day.

Thank you to everyone who took part for your spirit and generosity! Best of luck reaching your $7 million goal!
