UFCW Locals 175 & 633 - Zehrs Listowel celebrates 40 years & honours long-service Members

From left to right: Paul Lynch, Martin Hillbig, Jim Schwartzentruber (Store Manager), Ken Code (Loblaw), Janice Hartung, Betty Haines, Harry Triebe, and Sandy Smith.

On June 1st, 2017, Zehrs #535 celebrated its 40th anniversary in the community of Listowel.

To celebrate, the store had a BBQ and prize giveaways for customers as well as the employees and their families.

The first store was located on Wallace Ave North. In the mid 1990’s, it moved to its current location on Mitchell Road South. The current store is almost triple the size of the previous one.

The store recognized six of our Local Union Members for their 40 years of service with the company: Martin Hillbig, Sandy Smith, Paul Lynch, Janice Hartung, Harry Triebe, and Betty Haines.

Martin, Sandy, Paul, and Janice each began their career at Zehrs when it opened in Listowel originally. Harry and Betty have been long-time staff at the Listowel store too!

Congratulations to these Members on achieving such a milestone.
