UFCW Local 175 Members at Anamet ratify
June 28, 2016
On June 26, 2016, the members at Anamet Canada voted on a new collective agreement.
Employees receive a lump sum payment of $200 following ratification and an increase to all rates and progressions of 35 cents per hour in the second year of the agreement. Millwrights receive an increase of $2 per hour to their top rate.
Vacation language improves to set the Statutory Holiday schedule for the term of the contract, and should bereavement occur during an employee’s vacation, the appropriate number of vacation days will be returned to that employee’s vacation bank.
Overtime will now be banked as 1.5 hours for each overtime hour worked. Banked hours may be used for shift cancellations, plant closures, and sick days. Additionally, there is new language regarding Millwright apprentices.
