Transcare ratifies

Transcare ratifies increases to wages and premiums, and paid sick days for Community Health workers in new collective agreement.
The almost 200 HOPE Community Healthcare Sector members at Transcare Community Support Services in Scarborough ratified a three-year agreement on September 9, 2024.
The average increase to all wage rates in Year 1 is more than 5% retroactive to April 1, 2024. Wages improve in Year 2 – 3% and Year 3 – 2.5%.
The Overnight Care premium will increase in year one from 40 cents to 60 cents, year two to 65 cents and year three to 70 cents.
Healthcare benefit improvements include $500 for each paramedical service covered.
Language improvements include:
- New – two paid sick days for part-time.
- Payment for medical notes increases from $30 to $50.
- Travel Subsidy for full-time increases from $50 to $65 and for part-time from $25 to $40.
- Employer contribution to the training and education fund increases from $750 to $1000.
- Employees cannot be called in or scheduled less then 4 hours, an increase from 3 hours.
- Bereavement leave increase from 4 to 5 days and 1 to 2 days as applicable.
