Tokyo smoke ratifies first agreement

Tokyo Smoke ratifies first agreement and gains the protections, rights and benefits of unionized workers.
The new members on Arthur St in Thunder Bay at Tokyo Smoke ratified a first agreement with at three-year term on November 28, 2023.
These new members’ wage grid will be as follows:
- Start: $16.80
- Year 1: $17.00
- Year 2: $17.50
- Year 3: $18.00
There will also be language to ensure that no employee shall earn less than Minimum Wage + $0.25.
These workers will now enjoy the benefits of belonging to a Union and the protection of a collective agreement including a grievance process and just cause protection.
