Steward cell training for 2017 launches in Hamilton

With 30 stewards in attendance, our cell training for 2017 kicked off in Hamilton this morning.

These localized one-day training sessions will allow us to identify and address specific training needs.

Some of the topics that will be covered include understanding pensions, new member orientation instruction, detailed grievance handling, and dealing with management. There will also be time set aside in each session for a general question and answer period where we hope Stewards will share their stories, challenges, and solutions to enhance your learning experience even more.

We believe that providing our Stewards with practical skills and knowledge is imperative to ensuring a safer workplace, strong bargaining units, and a collective agreement that your employer will respect and uphold.
