Sleep Inn members Sault Ste. Marie ratify

The members at Sleep in Sault Ste. Marie ratified a new three year collective agreement at a meeting held on July 14th.
Improvements include a 2% increase in each year including a 2% increase retroactive to May 15, 2017. Additionally a minimum wage increase guarantee was negotiated to ensure that if the minimum wage in the province is increased that members will maintain a rate $0.25 higher than the minimum wage. The Night Auditor will receive a $1.00/hour premium.
Employees will be allowed to use single days for vacation and will be able to bank lieu days to be used at a later date. Sick days will increase by one day and the uniform allowance will also increase by one. In addition significant language improvements were made in the areas of disciplinary procedures and work day requirements.
