Chico is a unionized retail worker at Rexall in Toronto and works as a Pharmacy Assistant. Chico enjoys his job as it’s challenging work where you get to meet and talk to people every day. Chico has been a steward since 2010 and says they are happy to be working in a Unionized environment because of the protection it provides in the workplace. The Union defends by providing representation whenever a problem arises at work and promote benefits and educational opportunities.

Chico became a steward to create change, to be a voice for workers and to bring people together. Chico always uses respectful communication when providing feed back, even when others members disagree. Chico believes in holding the management accountable and in advocating for the rights of workers when dealing with management. In the past Chico has also been a member on the Health and Safety committee.
