Sault Ste. Marie G&K members vote yes to 3-year agreement

The members of Local 175 working at G&K Services in Sault Ste. Marie as drivers met on January 20, 2017 to ratify a new three-year collective agreement.
Wages increase by 2.25% in the first year, and 2.5% in each the second and third years of the contract. The Lead Hand shift premium improves to $1 per hour, up from 60 cents.
The employer will increase its contributions to the members’ pension plan by 2 cents per hour worked in the second year, and again in the third year, bringing the rate to 42 cents per hour. Members receive an improved safety boot allowance of $135 per year, up from $125.
Those members whose seniority entitles them to three weeks paid vacation may take up to five of those days individually.
