Members of Local 175’s Health, Office & Professional Employees (HOPE) Sector who work at Rogers Cove Retirement Residence ratified a negotiated agreement on June 27, 2016.

The employees at the Huntsville home achieved a three-year contract which includes an across-the-board wage increase of 2% in each year with the first increase retroactive for hours worked since December 1, 2015.

Other gains include the addition of two paid sick days bringing the total paid sick days per year to eight.

A fifth week of vacation entitlement paid at 10% of their gross earnings has been added for those employees with 15 years of service or more at the home. Other language improvements roll back full-time seniority dates to the employees’ dates of hire.

Prescription eyewear coverage improves to $200 per 24-month period, up from $120. The uniform allowance increases to $160 per year and midnight shift employees now receive a paid half hour lunch break.
