Registered Nurses at Sara Vista vote unanimously in favour of new agreement

Sara Vista Long Term Care Home Registered Nurse’s in Elmvale ratified a new three-year agreement on July 19, 2022.

Wages will increase as follows: Year 1 – 1.75%, Year 2 – 1.75% and Year 3 – 1.75% – retroactive to date of expiry.  Both the shift premiums and weekend premiums will increase by $0.10 on July 1, 2021, $0.10 on July 1, 2022 and $0.05 on July 1, 2023.

Vision care increases by $50 on Dec 1, 2022 up to $275 from $225.

Language improvements for the Sara Vista Registered Nurses include:

  • Vacation: entitlement to 6 weeks vacation reduced from 25 years to 22 years and 7 weeks eligibility will be reached at 27 in stead of 28 years.
  • The training education fund contribution will be renewed at $300 per year.
  • Sunset clause reduced from 18 month to 12 months.
  • Members can save bereavement days to attend a celebration of life ceremony.
