Members of UFCW Local 175 at Ready Bake Foods achieved a four-year agreement which includes a number of financial improvements.

Full-time employees, including Maintenance, receive wage increases in the form of lump sums and rate increases over the contract term. Initially, Members receive a lump sum of $1,000 for the first year, as well as another $1,000 in year three. In the second year, rates increase by 30 cents per hour, and in the fourth year, rates improve by 40 cents per hour. In addition, Maintenance employees receive an adjustment of $2 per hour as of ratification. Part-time employees will also see increases to their rates depending on hours worked.

Full-time employees on the middle grid will now progress through the top grid should they apply for a position within another classification. This has the potential to provide those members with an hourly rate increase of between $5 and $6.

Other monetary improvements include a foot wear allowance increase to $140, up from $120, per year, and improved Physiotherapy coverage of $300 per year.

More than 80 Members of UFCW Local 175 work at the Mississauga Ready Bake facility. The agreement was ratified on March 24, 2018.

Union Negotiating Committee: Jerzy Bagjier, Jeffery Hopkins, Betty Mbalire, and Union Rep Sam Caetano.
