Our newest union retirees are:

Retiree Neil DevittNeil Devitt – Metro #106

Our first retiree is Neil who has been a member for 49 years! He started working as a part-time grocery clerk in June 1969 at the Ritson Rd. South A&P store, he moved to full time in 1972. He relocated on to what is now Metro #106 as a Grocery Manager and that is where he is now retiring from. Neil has decided to say on part-time as a grocery clerk at Metro #106. Neil is dedicated to his job and his family and we wish him all the best in his semi-retirement.

Debbie Emond – Loblaws Meivale

Debbie retired from Loblaws in July where she was also a steward. She worked at the store for 40 years! She says she will enjoy the life to the fullest in retirement and spend time at the cottage entertaining her grandchildren as much as she can. Congratulation to Debbie a well-deserved retirement.

Retiree Roy FaubertRoy Faubert – Metro Elmvale

At age 15, Roy started in the meat business with his dad and hasn’t stopped; until now. Roy has retired from metro Elmvale after 40 years in the business. He just turned 65 and plans working on his house and visiting the grandchildren. We wish Roy a happy retirement.

retiree John EvangelistaJohn Evangelista – Vera Davis Centre

John is retiring on November 30th 2018 from Vera Davis Centre.  He has been with the home since August 22, 2005, working as maintenance/janitorial. All the best in your retirement John.

retiree AnnaFucec Anna Fucec – Metro #106

Anna started at A&P #106 in April 1988 as a deli clerk, where she worked until her retirement on September 17, 2018. Her personality just can’t keep her away so she decided to stay as a part-time employee. She is the proud grandmother to two beautiful girls and now that she is semi-retired, she has devoted her time to them. Enjoy your retirement Anna.

retiree Debbie SergentDebbie Sargent – Metro #46

Debbie started in July 1978 at Metro #46, where she worked for 40 years. In her retirement Debbie says she will enjoy helping out with her grandchildren. Congratulations Debbie.

retiree Dianne SalickDiane Salick – Metro Ogilvie

Diane retired on February 1, 2018 from Metro Ogilvie where she worked for 19 years, but Diane worked in the meat industry for 40 years of her life. She has always been a proud union member and is already missing the interaction with her fellow union sister, brothers, friends and customers that she grew to know and bond with over the years.  Her retirement plans are to relax at home before anything else and then to eventually travel around the globe. She now has the extra time to babysit her grandkids which she enjoys very much. All the best in your retirement Diane.

retiree Amadeo LaraAmadeo Lara – Cargill Dunlop

Amadeo has retired from Cargill Dunlop after 31 years where he performed various duties as a butcher/cutter at the facility.
