North Park ratifies significant wage increases and improvements with new collective agreement.
North Park Long Term Care Home members in Toronto unanimously ratified a two-year agreement on February 9, 2024.
These HOPE Sector members will receive a general wage increase of 3.5% in each year of the collective agreement. RPNs will receive a $.50 permanent wage adjustment and a $2.50 wage adjustment for the duration of the contract. The $3.00 wage increase that was legislated by the Ontario government for PSWs will be permanently enshrined into the base rate language of the collective agreement.
There will be the introduction of a night premium of 15 cents per hour, and the weekend premium will increase from $.25 to $.40 per hour.
The bereavement leave will increase from 4 to 5 days and will include step-mother, step-father and step-child into bereavement language. One day of bereavement leave can be retained to be used at a later date.
There will be a 7th week of vacation for those with 28 years of service.
