More than $40,000 raised for Blake!

On April 29th, Blake Davies, one of our young members who works at Fortinos suffered a life altering accident resulting in the permanent loss of mobility from the chest down.
Blake had just graduated from high school and recently accepted a full time position in the produce department at the Waterdown location. Blake’s mother, brother, and sister all work at the same location.
A call was put out for donations at the store and a fundraising event was planned to assist Blake’s family to make necessary adjustments to their family home. On June 24th more than 300 people attended a fundraiser held at the Waterdown Legion. The event featured raffles and games to raise the much needed funds. Although Blake is still being treated in hospital, he was also able to attend the event.
We are very happy to report that through the generosity of the employees, customers and the community at large, more than $40,000 has been raised to date and donations are still being accepted at the store. Thank you to everyone who has and continues to support the Davies family, our union brothers, sisters and friends!
