Metro in Sturgeon Falls ratifies and secures a new pension plan for members

The members in Sturgeon Falls at Metro ratified a three-year agreement on October 13, 2022.
Wage increases include: Full time at end rate – $2.65/hour. Part-time at end rate – Minimum wage + $1.55. The remaining grids all have minimum wage plus language and the grids will be shortened for full-time from 42 months to 24 months and for part-time from 6501 hours to 4551 hours.
As of January 1, 2025 these members will be enrolled into the CCWIPP pension plan at $0.60/hour.
Part time workers will be entitled to full benefits at 2 years and 22 hours, down from 6 years of service.
Sick days from 0 to 40 hrs for full-time as of January 2023 and from 0 to 8 hours for part-time as of January 2023 and 24 hours in 2025. Vacation entitlement will now be: 4 weeks at 8 years instead of 11 and new: 5 weeks at 17 years.
