Members in Port Colborne at Pinty’s ratify new agreement

On September 3, 2021 the 170 members at Pinty’s Delicious Foods in Port Colborne ratified a five-year agreement with wage increases as follows: Effective September 17th 2021 – $.50, 2022 – $.45, 2023 – $.45, 2024 – $.40 and 2025 – $.50. Additionally, prior to the general increase, effective September 17 2021 – $2.75 to Waste Water & Maintenance, $1.00 to Live Receiving and $.75 to Quality Assurance.

Premiums increases include lead hand from $1.00 to $1.25 and evisceration department premium from $.40 to $.50. The evisceration department will now be paid for the entire time the birds are moving through the production line. New language was established for the earnings of maintenance apprentices.

Benefit improvements include vision allowance increase from $200 to $400 every 24 months and chiropractor from $325 to $400 every 12 months.

Other language improvements include effective the 2022 vacation year members will be eligible for a fifth week of vacation after 18 years down from 20. Paid breaks went from 12 to 15 minutes and there will be the addition of one floater day

The contribution to the training and education fund will increase from $700 to $1000 per year. Paid time for Union leave will be 4 hours per week for Chief Steward to attend Union business at the plant, access to a computer and a lockable Union locker will be provided by the employer.
