Members at TownePlace Suites ratify

The forty members employed at TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Thunder Bay have a new agreement that will see them through April 2023.

Over the term of the agreement, members will see increases totalling $2.08 per hour. Lead Hand work will earn employees a shift premium of $1 per hour so worked.

New language in this agreement provides part-time employees with paid bereavement leave. The contract also contains new language surrounding discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment.

Members benefit from other improvements, including extended arbitration language, plus longer timeframes for grievance filing. Lastly, paid Union leave will be extended to 21 days per year.

Members of the Union bargaining unit ratified the agreement on December 6, 2018.
