New contract ratified by members at the Quattro Hotel

The more than 90 members at the Quattro Hotel & Conference Centre in Sault Ste. Marie achieved a new three-year contract with their employer on August 30, 2016.

Wages improve across-the-board by two per cent in each year of the contract term. Porters’ gratuities increase to $2 per bag, up from $1.25. In addition, other gratuities will be distributed based on amended language as well. New Housekeeping staff will receive five 8-hour training shifts, and all Housekeepers will receive 12-hour notice of any revisions to their work schedule.

The uniform allowance for Front Desk, Porter, and Maintenance employees improves to $100 for full-time and $50 for part-time. Workers receive $50 toward the purchase of non-slip shoes, and improvements now provide three uniforms, from up two, to each full-time employee, and two uniforms to part-time workers.

Bereavement entitlement improves to include Aunts and Uncles, and provide more days overall. Full-time employees, and part-time with at least five years of continuous service, receive between two and five Wellness Days, depending on their length of service.

Union Negotiating Committee: Jenn Kokis, Carol Loucks, Karen Parissenti, Bill Pigeon, and Union Rep Arlene Robertson.
