On April 17, 2021 the membership from Seguin’s ValuMart in Iroquois Falls ratified a new five year deal.

Over the life of the agreement wages will increase up to $3.35 per hour for full-time and up to $1.55 for part-time.  A new grid for minimum wage workers was introduced to ensure a gap between the minimum wage and the negotiated wages.  Both full and part-time members who have reached the end rate will receive retroactive payment of $.25 per hour for all hours worked back to the date of expiry. This includes part-time who reached the end rate since expiry. Other monetary improvements include an increase of $25 per year to the safety footwear allowance up to $75.

Both the full and part time schedules will now be posted earlier in the week, and better language for rest period entitlement and Union inclusion in any incentive plans was negotiated. The cost for meeting rooms will be split for negotiations and an additional two days will be paid for negotiating committee members to increase to seven days. Entitlement for a 4th week of vacation will now be at 10 years down from 12.

Negotiating Committee Anna Goulet and Chantal Purdy. Union Rep. John Beaton.
