Members at Food Basics #907 help their co-workers in time of need

When two of their co-workers, siblings aged 19 and 17, tragically lost their parents to a car accident, members Ceileigh McAndrew and Diana Marunda knew they wanted to help. They took it upon themselves to start a fundraiser and starting asking for donations.

When the district manager heard what Ceileigh and Diana were doing, they also helped out by collecting $800.00 in gift cards from other stores in the area. Local 175 also made a donation to the cause.

We would like to recognize Ceileigh and Diana for their compassion while trying to help these young co-workers in the most difficult of times, they were able to raise $1,500.00.

A GoFundMe account has also raised more than $40,000 for the siblings.
