October 30, 2019
On October 22, 2019, members at Caleres Canada Inc. in Perth achieved a new three-year agreement.
The new agreement includes wage increases of $.50 in the first year, $.55 in the second and $.60 the third year for all full and part time members. In addition, minimum wage language was negotiated to ensure that if minimum wage increases, the entire pay grid including the end rate, will also receive increases. Severance language has improved and severance pay will now be doubled to two weeks of pay for each year of service up to a maximum of 52 weeks.
Members will now receive six sick days up from five. Employees will be entitled to any new statutory holiday proclaimed by government and will be paid double time for work on stat holidays. Members will also now be able to take their birthday off with pay.
