Members at Bee Clean Algoma add new benefits and wage improvements with new collective agreement

Members working at Bee-Clean Building Maintenance, Algoma District ratified a three-year agreement on November 28, 2023.
Workers will receive wage increases of $1.70 over the three-year term. Additionally, if minimum wage increases more than the negotiated wage increase over the term, the minimum wage increase will be matched.
Benefit improvements include that the RRSP matching contribution will increase by 1%. A life insurance, prescription drug, and optical plan will be added.
Language improvements include:
- An additional paid sick day.
- A boot allowance of $150 annually.
- New language will be added to indicate that employees who clean government buildings will be paid for the day if the building is closed on a regular work day (ie: Federal Holidays).
