December 3, 2020
Recently, UFCW Local 175 members at Agropur Natrel in Sudbury secured a new collective agreement.
The Union Negotiating Committee achieved a number of improvements in terms of wages and other conditions of work. Notably, members will all now be on 10-hour shifts, instead of the previous mix of eight and 10-hour shifts.
Members will see a retroactive raise of 1.8% paid for hours worked since the expiry of the previous agreement. Subsequent increases totalling 10% will apply to rates over the remainder of the agreement term. In addition, money paid to reimburse employees for Driver medicals increases to $150, up from $125.
Effective November 10, 2020, members will benefit from increases to their employer-paid pension contributions to $48, up from $47. Thereafter, that payment will increase to $51 in year four, and $52.50 in year five.
The renewal agreement at Agropur Natrel, which members ratified on November 10, 2020, covers the 11 full-time employees at the Sudbury facility.
