Meghrig Karamanougian wins CLC & United Way Canada Scholarship

Meghrig Karamanougian CLC United Way scholarship winner Congratulations to Meghrig Karamanougian who is the 2019 recipient of the Canadian Labour Congress and United Way Centraide Canada, Post Secondary Scholarship!

Meghrig is a UFCW Local 175 member who has been a pharmacist assistant at Food Basics Pharmacy in Kitchener for three years. Meghrig was chosen for the award as it was indicated Your application demonstrated an uncanny ability to make the links between unions, governments and individual every day actions in order to challenge the rise of white nationalism and the alt right in Canada, making you a powerful voice for the youth of today and a compelling applicant for our scholarship.”

This fall Meghrig will be attending Wilfrid Laurier University as a full-time student in the B.A. Mathematics program.

Congratulations Meghrig on winning the scholarship and thank you for being a valuable member of the union. We wish you all the best in your studies in the fall, and in the future.
