Lindsay Extendicare ratifies significant wage increases and language improvements

Members employed by Compass Group at Extendicare in Lindsay ratified a three-year agreement on October 10. 2023, which provides significant wage increases and language improvements.

Wage increases:

Cooks:

• Year 1 – 6.3%,
• Years 2 & 3 – 2%.

Dietary Aid/General Help:

• Year 1 – 12.7%,
• Years 2 & 3 – 2%.

There will also be a signing bonus of $350 paid within 4 weeks of ratification.

Pension improvements include the introduction of an RRSP program with 1% contribution matching.

Language improvements include:

• Additional sick day from 5 to 6 sick days.
• Doctor’s note reimbursement increased from $20 to $25.
• Bereavement Days increased from 3 to 4 days.
• Uniform allowance increased from $125 to $130.
• Vision Care increase for eye exam from $60 to $75.
• Paramedical: introduction of Orthotics $200.
• New Letter of Understanding re: Pandemic Pay.
