Trent Valley Lodge in Trenton ratified a three-year agreement on February 22, 2023.

Members will receive general wage increases as follows: August 1, 2021 – 1.5%, August 1, 2022 – 3%, August 1, 2023 – 3%. Registered staff will receive an adjustment of $.50/hour in each year of the agreement and those in the classification of activities, housekeeping, laundry and dietary will receive a one-time top-up of $.50 in the final year of the contract. The Permanent Wage Enhancement currently provided through the Ontario government of $3.00/hour will be enshrined in the language of the agreement for PSWs after wage adjustments.

Benefit improvements include an increase to life insurance to $25,000 up from $17,000. A new paramedical coverage benefit will be added for Physiotherapy, Chiropractor, and Massage Therapy benefits of $500 per year.  This was a sought-after benefit achieved after attempting to secure them at previous contract negotiations. Vision coverage will increase to $300 up from $200.

Previous language regarding shift premiums was removed to provide for more inclusive shift premium payments.
