Havelock Foodland members ratify

Members of UFCW Local 175 employed at Havelock Foodland secured a new collective agreement at a meeting held April 8, 2019.

The agreement includes a new minimum wage plus scale for all employees to ensure rates stay ahead of minimum wage and that employees receive any future increases applied to minimum wage as well. Employees at the full-time top rate will see raises totalling 95 cents per hour over the term of the contract. Part-time employees at the top rate receive a total of 90 cents per hour over the three-year term. The Union negotiating committee also achieved language providing for Union orientation to be done on paid time.

Members at Havelock Foodland ratify new union contractA new vision care benefit provides $200 per 24-month period, and the uniform pants allowance increases to $60 per year. Bereavement language now includes a Celebration of Life as a qualifying day that can be taken at later date.

The agreement, which has a three-year term, covers ten full-time and 40 part-time employees at Havelock Foodland.
