Good Humor-Breyers ratifies three-year deal with wages increases every year

The 340 full-time members in Simcoe at Good Humor-Breyers ratified a new three-year deal on October 19, 2021. Across the board wage increases will be 2% in each year of the agreement.

Maintenance Mechanic wages will increase $0.50/hour before the general wage increases in year one and $0.25/hour in year three. There will be a new production operators’ premium of $1.50/hour when assigned the role of filler operator and a new Training Premium will be introduced. Employees who obtain a D License will be paid $0.35/hour for each hour worked.

New language will allow reimbursement for interchangeable prescription drugs and language indicating no substitutions. There will be an increase to the vision care benefit, bereavement language will see step-parent added and seasonal employees will receive one additional bereavement day.

The employer will provide lifting devices to assist light labour dumping lines, and the contribution to the training and education fund will increase to $750.00 per year.

A new incentive bonus plan will be introduced that will provide eligible employees the ability to receive bonuses ranging from $1,500 to $1,725 in incentives if the employer meets or exceeds target.
