Freshco members in Toronto ratify wage and premium increases

Freshco Dundas and Runnymede in Toronto ratified a five-year agreement on June 6, 2024. Full- time workers will receive $4.05 in increases over the term of the collective agreement and the part-time increase over the term will be $2.40 with the first year increases retroactive to the date of expiry.

There will also be increases to the following premiums: night shift, cash office, lock up, and there will be the introduction of a new premium for file maintenance. The relief pay when covering for a department manager will also increase.

Language improvements include:

  • Increased vision care coverage from $200 to $250.
  • Paid doctor’s notes when requested by the employer.
  • A fourth week of vacation entitlement added.
  • Added one floater holiday.
  • Reduced probation period for part-time.
  • Improved bereavement leave.
