Flyer Force workers in Ottawa ratified a new collective agreement.

Ottawa Flyer Force in ratified a two-year agreement on February 14, 2023. Members will see wage increases of 0.75% in the first year and 0.50% increase to current Minimum Wage + grid. There will be lump sum payments of $220.00 for full-time and $185.00 for part-time workers who have completed their probation. Premiums increases for cage operator of $0.88 and assistant lead operator premium from current 10% to 15%.

Benefit improvements include an increase of a $0.04 contribution per hour to maintain the dental benefit. The current health benefits will be maintained with no increase to premiums.

Other language improvements include:

  • Increase to the safety boot allowance to $135.00 annually.
  • Addition of language regarding sexual harassment and disability accommodation.
  • Employees will now have four weeks of vacation at ten years of service, five weeks at fifteen years.
  • Full-time employees may, with prior written approval from their manager, carry a maximum of five days vacation from one fiscal year into the next.
