First contract for National Diabetes Trust – Hamilton

The members at National Diabetes Trust in Hamilton have a collective agreement after ratifying a four-year deal on July 26, 2022.
Wage increase will include a $2500 signing bonus for all employees as well as date of ratification increase of $0.75, July 1, 2023 – $0.50, July 1, 2024 – $0.50, and July 1, 2025 -$0.50.
There will be an Employer pension plan (Manulife RRSP plan) where the employer will match of 1-3% of annual salary. Employees will also have a group insurance plan and dental plan.
Members will be entitled to 7 paid sick days, bereavement entitlement of 5 days for immediate and 2 days for aunt/uncle, a yearly footwear allowance of $150 per year and the employer will pay for maintaining licensing requirements.
In addition to all of the benefits of securing a collective agreement for these members, we negotiated strong health and safety language to protect the members.
