First Contract achieves substantial increases and benefit improvements for Dare Foods in Cambridge

On August 21, 2022 the 155 full-time members at Dare Foods in Cambridge ratified a first collective agreement with a three-year term. These new members will see a $2.00 per hour increase across the board at the Date of Ratification. On January 1, 2024 – $.50 increase across the board as well as a $3000.00 lump sum payment.

Pension improvements will be: January, 1, 2023 an increase from 3% to 4% matched by employer and on January, 1, 2024 an increase from 4% to 5% matched by employer.

Benefit improvements will have the employer paying 60% of benefit costs on Date of Ratification and on January, 1, 2023 the employer will cover 70% of the cost of benefits.

Other language improvements include:

  • Two additional floater days.
  • Tool Allowance of $250.00 per year.
  • Agency workers will be hired as full-time bargaining unit employees.
  • There will be a Labour Management meeting monthly.
