Eco II Manufacturing employees vote yes to join the Union

Congratulations and welcome to our newest members from Eco II Manufacturing Inc. in Scarborough.

The bargaining unit of approximately 100 employees work as packers, machine operators, Q&A, shippers, receivers, and extruders. Eco II specializes in manufacturing traditional garbage bags from recycled plastics.

The employees cited wages and benefits, job security and health & safety concerns as their reason for contacting the union. “the workers have not had a wage increase in 3 years while their benefit costs keep increasing” said Amy Tran organizer “as well, the workers are dealing with extreme heat and cold in a plant that has poor ventilation”.

These workers now have the protection and representation of the union along with 70,000 members behind them to help them deal with their concerns and fight for their rights.
