Representation at the heart of Dare Foods employees’ Organizing campaign

On December 23 and 24, 2021, approximately 170 employees at Dare Foods located in Cambridge voted in favour of joining UFCW Local 175.

“I applaud these members for making the choice to become part of UFCW Local 175. Our Union prides itself on representing our members to the fullest and having the best labour advocates in Ontario,” said President Shawn Haggerty.

Dare Foods has been in operation for many years, including both the warehouse and the manufacturing plant in Cambridge. The employees at Dare Foods perform many job tasks, including everything from sanitation to maintenance and production, to ensure retail grocery customers can find the familiar food and confections they enjoy.

“As members of UFCW Local 175, these workers look forward to achieving success in a positive environment,” said Haggerty. “Having the strength of the Union behind them through collective bargaining will help ensure their jobs are safer and more secure, and that issues will be dealt with in a timely manner.”
