Members at Compass Group Canada (Beaver) Ltd. in Toronto have a new collective agreement.  The three-year deal was ratified on October 18. Many of the terms of the previous contract were extended, while adding increased wages and additional health and safety protections. As part of this new contract, rubber mats will now be available at all work stations. In addition to this, all members are required to wear non-slip shoes while at work. Because of this new rule, the employer will provide a shoe allowance of $35 every two years to workers. Vision benefits are increased from $200 to $250. Wages increase by $0.25 per year. A person assigned to work as a “Lead Hand” will receive a premium of $0.25 for every hour work as assigned.
