Compass Group Extendicare members in Lindsay achieve new agreement

Compass Group Extendicare members in Lindsay ratified a new collective agreement recently.
Members at Compass Group Extendicare benefit from raises in each year of the agreement plus improved vacation and other language.
In the first year, all members receive a raise of 1.4% plus special adjustments of 10 cents per hour for Cooks, and 20 cents per hour for Dietary Aides. Wages increase by another 1.4% in year two and another 1.4% in year three. Plus, all members receive a signing bonus of $200 following ratification.
Vacation language improves to provide five weeks per year for those members with 20 years or more of service. Additionally, members receive a float day that can used on their birthday and language around vacation scheduling improves as well.
The Union Negotiating Committee achieved improved health and safety language regarding required vaccines. Steward involvement within the workplace improves through further language improvements.
The membership at Compass Group Extendicare Lindsay ratified the agreement on January 29, 2021.
