Community healthcare workers in Toronto at Vibrant unanimously ratify new collective agreement

Vibrant Healthcare Alliance in Toronto unanimously ratified a three-year deal on August 1, 2023 and the members will receive wage increases of 2% in each year of the term. There will also be lump sum payments of $250 – Year 1, $300 – Year 2 and $300 – Year 3.

Language improvements include:

  • Members will receive an additional $150 and three additional paid days for professional development.
  • The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be added to the list of stat holidays.
  • Vacation entitlement:
    • Four weeks – after less than seven years down from less than eight years.
    • Five weeks after seven years down from eight.
    • An additional week of vacation for 25 years plus.
  • Employer to pay for doctor notes when requested.
  • Increase in mileage allowance from $0.50 to $0.58.
  • Increase in lunch expense reimbursement from $15 to $20.
  • Increase in the contribution to the training and education fund from $350 to $400.
  • Reduced the sunset clause from 24 months to 12 months for verbal and written and 18 months for suspension.
  • Collective agreement language to be gender neutral throughout.
