On December 15, 2023, members at Coca-Cola in Gatineau unanimously ratified a six-year deal withwage increases and other important monetary improvements. Full-time workers will see the following wage adjustments in each year of the collective agreement:

  • Year 1 – 3%
  • Year 2 – 3%
  • Year 3 – 3%
  • Year 4 – 2.5%
  • Year 5 – 2.5%
  • Year 6 – 2.5%

Other increases include:

  • Night Shift Premium increased to $1.25 per hour (up from $1.00).
  • Bereavement Days increased to 4 days (up from 3) for immediate family members.
  • Boot allowance $225.00 per year (up from $210.00).
  • Banked Overtime up to 40 hours per year (NEW).

Additionally, members had various concerns regarding the requirement for Drivers to pay for medical certificates as well as potential loss of seniority should a member be in a lay-off position. The negotiating committee pushed for enhanced coverage in these circumstances and came out with better language and increased protections for workers. These are as follows:

  • Company to pay for doctor’s notes if requested by the company.
  • Company to pay for Driver medical – up to $150.00.
  • Loss of seniority after 24 months of lay-off (increased from 18 months).

Negotiating Committee: Pierre-Eric Tasse, Stephane Paquette. Union Representative: Joe Tenn
