Members at CBF Borden ratified a new collective agreement recently.

The employees at CFB Borden will see a raise of 2.5% in the first year and subsequent raises totalling another 4.5% in the following three years of the contract term. The boot allowance improves to $165, up from $150, per year.

Part-time employees now get two paid sick days and five paid family leave days per year, which they did not have previously. In addition, both full and part-time receive one personal leave day per year.

Pregnant employees receive up to 3.75 hours paid leave to attend routine medical appointments.

Language improvements address harassment and the entire agreement is now gender neutral. Lastly, employees benefit from a provision that allows them to request 24 months unpaid leave, up from 12 months.

The ratified four-year agreement covers 42 full-time and 38 part-time employees who work in various locations across CFB Borden.
