Members at Canadian Linen in Ottawa and Kingston ratified a new three-year contract at meetings held December 3 and 4, 2015.

Wages increase by 1% in the first year, 1.5% in year two and 2% in year three. Employees receive a lump sum payment at the end of this year, in lieu of retroactive pay, in the amount of $150 for full-time and $50 for part-time.

Employer contributions to the workers’ pension plan increase to 50 cents per hour worked effective the first year, 55 cents in the second year, and 60 cents per hour worked in the third year of the contract term. Company contributions to the health and welfare plan will also increase over the life of the agreement.

The agreement also contains enhanced language regarding discrimination, harassment, and bullying.
