C.P. Bunkhouse ratifies wage increases, language and benefit improvements with new contract

C.P. Bunkhouse members employed by Hallcon Corporation in White River, ratified a three-year agreement on April 16, 2024.

Members will receive wage increases of 3% in each year of the contract. The shift differential will increase from 50 cents to $1.00 per hour and management relief will increase from $1.00 to $1.50 per hour.

Minimum wage differential language was also negotiated to ensure that in the event the Provincial government increases minimum wage in excess of the negotiated wage increase, the employer will add the differential to those employees who are on the wage grid on the date the government makes the increase effective.

Other improvements include:

  • New:  Vision Care coverage of $150.00.
  • New:  3 paid sick days that will be paid out at 100% if unused.
  • The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be added to the list of holidays.
  • Vacation improvement for those with 20 years of service – 12% of gross earnings.
