Bunge Canada members secure increases to wages and benefits with new contract

On December 12, 2022 the members at Bunge Canada in Hamilton ratified a three- year agreement with wage increases in Year 1 of 5.54% to 13.45%, Year 2 – 3% and in Year 3 – 2.75%.
There will also be increases to pension contributions in each year of $46.00, $47.00 and $48.00 respectively.
Benefit improvements include:
- Maximum benefit entitlement increases from $11,000 to $22,000.
- Eye exam coverage increasing from $80.00 to $90.00 and eye glass coverage from $300.00 to $350.00.
- ADDED – massage therapist and psychologist $250.00 of coverage for each.
- Dental current ODA.
- Life insurance from $90,000.00 to $100,000.00.
Other language improvements include that members will now qualify for bereavement from date of hire instead of upon the completion of a probation period and the employer will transfer successful applicants within 60 days.
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be added to the list of holidays and members will receive one floater day in January 1,2025.
